Engineered Wheel Repair started as company with a humble beginning. After working in the automotive industry for several years as a sales engineer of Quality Control testing equipment, Mr. Sipe was forced into an early retirement. Not able to stop his interest in the automobile industry, he was looking for something to do with his knowledge of quality control and marketing. While in Atlanta, Georgia, he noticed that there were several companies in the “Wheel Repair Business”. He visited several wheelwrights and was amazed to how secretive they were with their repair methods. His knowledge and contacts in the wheel manufacturing industry helped him develop a system to repair wheels with great success. With this training and trial and error, he started the wheelwright repair business in the back warehouse of the A.R. Young Company in Indianapolis. The business started in 2003 doing 1 or 2 wheels a week but learning additional wheel repair techniques as the company progressed. In 2005 needing more room to grow, he moved the business into the former Cossey Automotive Building on East New York Street close to downtown Indianapolis... This was a well established location having been started in the 1920’s. He is thrilled to state that the automotive service business still survives in this eastside location.
